Anchorperson: Welcome to the show, I am your host Muhammad Daud Khan and you are listening program “Main Bhi Pakistan Hoon”. Usually, we discuss youth’s role and issues on Wednesday. However, toady we will discuss unemployment in the country. We have a large number of educated and uneducated youth in the society. Youth are confronting with the issue of unemployment in Pakistan. Unemployment is a major issue of today’s youth. We will discuss various concepts in the current debate to create job opportunities in the country. Pakistan is a developing country.  Educated youth have lack of job opportunities in Pakistan. We should also think about the uneducated jobless youth in the society. How we can guide the illiterate youth? Unemployment is a worldwide issue. Mostly Americans youth are also confronting with the issue of unemployment.  Youth had many job opportunities in Pakistan in 1947. We had small size population at the time of independence. However, now we have a large size of population, which is also a reason for unemployment in the country. Therefore, unemployment is increasing along with the growth in population. Many youth are working in social and other organizations but many are jobless in the country.

Whether, over population leads unemployment in the country?  What efforts should be made to reduce unemployment in our country? Americans, Japanize and German scholars say they are producing better youth to create better future and explore new concept and ideas. We always criticize elders and rulers for not doing any things for us. It is our prime responsibility to produce skillful youth in the society.  You can also share your views with us.  Now we are moving toward your calls.

 Call, no-1(Niaz Mohammad from Multan): Educated youth have lack of job opportunities in the country. However, we should obtain education. I think dense population is also responsible for the current issue of unemployment in Pakistan.

Call, no-2(Wakeel jan, age 16): I think corruption is a cause behind the issue of unemployment in the country. Poor youth have no opportunities of jobs in our society.

Anchorperson: Why injustice is increasing in our society? I think unemployment can also multiply more problems like crime and violence in the society. Employ people can feed their family in a better way and enjoy a peaceful life. Dense population can also affect country’s economy and other sectors especially agricultural. Unemployment and population are directly related to one another. China and Indian are major populated countries in the world.

Call, no-3(Adil from DI KJhan): I don’t agree with you because Pakistan is fourth populated country in the world. China is over populated country but they have no issue of unemployment. I think our rulers have lack of a proper strategy to accommodate youth and overcome this issue. Pakistan has many resources. I think proper management can resolve the issue of unemployment in the country. The founder of the nation Quaid-e-Azam had offered great services and sacrifices for uplift of the country. He donated his property to Islamia College Peshawar and other educational institutions in the country. Therefore, we had no issue of unemployment in 1947.

Call, no-4(Jalil): I think growth in population can add many problems in the society. Our youth are jobless. We should take measures to control the population. We should make efforts and also provide right direction to the youth for the progress of the country. It can reduce the issue of unemployment in the country.

Call, no-5(Ubaidullah from North Waziristan, age 24): China is not confronting with the issue of unemployment in spite of most populated country across the world. We have lack of proper strategy in the country to overcome the issue of unemployment. Retired people are again recruited in our institutions. Therefore, youth are confronting with the issue of unemployment.  I think corruption and violation of merits are also main hurdles in way of job opportunities in the country.

Call, no-6(Ali from DI Khan): The violation of merits is main reason for current issue of unemployment. I think incompetent people are enjoying key posts in Pakistan. Well educated youth is being deprived from their due rights in our society. I don’t think over population is responsible for unemployment because we have doubled resources in the country as compared to the past.  We should control population ratio to properly feed our children. It is our collective responsibility to control population. We should elect honest people instead of corrupt people.

Call, no-7(Arif from Lahore, age 23): Yes, dense population is responsible for unemployment. We should control our population. We should create awareness among the people to control population size. I think Ulema can play a vital role to create awareness among the people in this regard.

Anchorperson: We discussed reasons behind the unemployment in the country. We also talked about the relationships between the population and unemployment. According to the callers’ competition, incompetent officials and dense population are responsible for the current issue of unemployment in the country. End
